Rules for packing parcels

Pay attention to the new rules for packing parcels for Plus, Direct consolidations, FedEx, UPS, DPD deliveries. To ensure that your parcels are scanned faster and do not require manual processing by postal employees (and thus reach your customers faster and do not require additional fees for their processing), please follow the simple packaging requirements of the postal service:
● Do not wrap parcels with film, stretch film, or kraft paper (only the goods inside the parcel can be wrapped with protective film). Only cardboard boxes are allowed for shipping.● Do not cover the entire parcel with tape.Replace tubes with square or triangular packaging. Tubed shipments (if they are not boxed, they are flat-sided) are available from the freight departments. Triangular and rectangular boxes can be shipped from any Nova Poshta branch.● Do not pack in wooden, plastic, metal, plywood or chipboard boxes, or wrap with kraft paper or bubble wrap.
The rules of the postal service allow you to- send a courier package and tape it in several places (but not completely!);- wrap the parcel with tape only in a few places so that the parcel keeps its shape;- wrap the goods inside the cardboard box with a film/bag;- put cardboard boxes in a courier package for parcels up to 2 kg of physical or volumetric weight.
Please follow these rules, as scanning the dimensions of the parcel becomes significantly more difficult (and sometimes impossible) due to the fact that the protective film (or tape that wraps the entire parcel) "reflects" the laser beam on the scanning equipment.
If the packaging does not meet the requirements, the carrier may charge a fine of $19 to $45, depending on the carrier. In this case, the funds will be deducted from your account.
If the parcel arrives at the warehouse in Kyiv without complying with the packaging rules (namely, untreated wood or a box made of plywood, chipboard, etc.), we will be forced to repackage it in accordance with the rules in the approved material.
In order to avoid future fines from the postal service, please follow the rules of parcel packaging. If you do not comply with these requirements in the future, our employees will charge a fee of $10 per parcel for additional packaging.
You can find more detailed information on packaging in the article below, or contact us for advice.

And this is how the tube packaging can be placed in a box:

As for the labels, they must also be attached to the parcels, according to the rules of the postal company.

During the primary sorting, postal employees place parcels on the conveyor belt or rollers with the label (barcode) facing up so that the barcode is read automatically when it passes the scanner frame. However, creases in the tape, several layers of tape, the dark color of the tape, blanking and dark files (in which the labels are inserted) often interfere with the automatic barcode reading process. And this is done manually by a postal employee. Manual processing takes more time and is assessed by the postal company at a separate rate, which is expressed in an additional fee for each parcel.

In order to avoid increasing the delivery time of parcels and delivery tariffs, please pay attention to the following rules:

To prevent damage to the paper of the labels, they must be taped (over the entire area of the label) on top of the boxes, but always with transparent tape and without creases/folds in the tape directly above the barcode.

Please note: this requirement does not apply to labels printed on thermal printers, as the adhesive on the tape negatively affects the ink composition - it blurs it. Therefore, labels printed on thermal printers should be simply adhered to the parcel with tape so that the adhesive does not get on the printed information.
We would like to remind you that consolidation parcels are shipped to Miami in a common box, and this is also additional packaging and protection against moisture and other damage.

Another important point: the label affixed by the seller when sending the parcel is relevant only for moving the parcel through the United States. If the parcel is sent in consolidation to other countries, the label is re-stuck in New York for further passage to the country of destination - this will be done by postal employees, in accordance with all requirements.

Important: Parcels sent by UPS SurePost or UPS Ground (usually weighing more than 450 grams) must be at least 4 cm thick.
