How to notify your customer about duties
Some buyers face a situation when a parcel is detained at customs because the amount of goods exceeds the duty-free threshold. In addition, an additional customs fee may be charged to the delivery amount.
As practice shows, only a few buyers know the customs laws of their country. Based on this, they may open complaints, demand compensation, or not pick up their goods. We recommend that you familiarize yourself with the information on customs duties in the recipient's country.
To protect ourselves from liability regarding import tax and duties, we offer the following disclaimer for buyers of our sellers regarding import tax and duties.
Hello, Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer’s responsibility.
Please check with your country’s customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding / buying.
These charges are normally collected by the delivering freight (shipping) company or when you pick the item up – do not confuse them for additional shipping charges.
We do not mark merchandise values below value or mark items as “gifts” – International government regulations prohibit such behavior.
